Reflection on Art workshop.

In art class we have been preparing an art workshop for quite a long time. During the first couple of weeks we had to make a patchwork square. When everyone brought theirs in we had to order them from really good ones to ones that can improve. The next week we had to sit in groups and each group had to organize the layout of the stall and the materials going to be used on international day. We had to make a video and a power point to introduce them to the stall. The next week was quite difficult to organize when many people had the parade of nations. So miss asked us to stay after school on Monday and to come in lunch on that day. We had to take down all the materials to the cafeteria and take the tables for the stall. The next day was the actual day and my group was going to start our shift at 10:15, when my group went we saw that many squares were made and many people had come. Over the 45 minutes my group were working we had made about 7 new squares. At the end of international day we had about 30 new squares to make the huge patchwork quilt. Miss was really proud of us and it was the first time I have made a stall and worked for it.

For international day my group members were: Amir, Andrijia, Mayukh, Mohamed and I. Amir's role was to show the people the video and introduce the people to our stall. Mohamed provided extra materials and helped the people if they needed help. Mayukh showed people the cut out techniques. I helped the parents understand what they were supposed to do. Andrijia helped the children and pinned most of the work on to the wall. The items that were collected and prepared were, glue, scissors, and different colored fabric for the adults and the kids. The fabric were separated into colors and the parents had to cut their own shapes but the kids used the shapes already cut for them. Our workshop went really well and most of us enjoyed it especially me because it was the first time I made a stall in a group with friends from school. Many people came and made much more squares they made more than our class has made, we saw many stories on the quilts and it was really fun.. I enjoyed working with my friends and I also enjoyed making my square at home. I learnt how to be collaborative and organize a workshop. I learnt how to make a cut out and make a patchwork square.

The Box

This is our physical theatre play it had to all relate to frustration and fighting for the box.
I think that our play was really good and especially when runa came in the second lesson of practicing we only had 15 minutes to practice for the performance. The way we have performed was by pushing each other of the box and being violent to each other and being tense. I think that Mille's group has also done well with getting to the point and also fighting for the box as we were supposed to, they did awesomely well and have followed instructions as told. They should have improved on staying to the point and not to do the slow-mo. I think that Nadia's group used teamwork but they have to follow the rules. They were supposed to follow the rules and fight or push for the box, to me it looked like a fashion show. Andrijia's group has also done really well especially with the different uses of the box, Andrija used it for writing, Mayukh for sleeping and Omar for dancing which I really liked. They could improve by not repeating the same actions over and over again. Jonas's group have used really good ways of reacting to the other actors using the box. They could improve by making it all about the box and nothing else. Jana's group has done well with acting but they need to improve in staying to the point and not just dance and forget about the box. It looked like Maanya was a ruler telling them to do stuff for her. Overall I think it was fun and I have learnt a lot.

Greek theatre mask

My Greek theatre mask:

I have made my mask at home from scratch, it took me an hour and a half to make it. I have made it with paper Mache I had to wait a long time for the mask to dry but I have done it achieving and finishing the assignment.

The type of mask I have chosen was related to comedy because of the smile and the details on the mask, It has big cheeks and a big grin I think it was made really well.
I have used bright colours on the mask to show that it is a comedy related mask.

Here is my mask in progress:

I have still not painted it and not given the details and features. I have used the colors red and brown for the mouth and black for the eyebrows and pink for the cheeks.

Here is my mask ready to be used:

It looks much different than the first one because of the colors, there was a big improvement from the first one. I really enjoyed making the mask and designing it.

Reflection of Oudipus and the sphinx oracle scene.

Reflection of my acted scene of Oedipus and the sphinx:

My group and I have been learning about Greek theatre and the story of Oedipus and the sphinx, our assignment was to act out an oracle scene from the play and take a video, Our group has done it two times and there was a big difference between the two

This is the first play we have done:

When we started to rehearse for the scene it has taken us a while to sort out the roles and choose one of the oracles but we had managed to finish it at the end. We had not presented it on stage and every group had presented it at the same time and we recorded it in a close view.

This is the second play we have done:

When we started with this play we had 10 minutes to rehearse for the play because it was another day and we might have forgotten the lines. After the ten minutes each of the groups had to perform on stage one by one, the play had to include a chorus part of the scene.
It is such a big difference from the last video and we have improved a lot.
